Class Description

This junior sewing class is designed especially for children aged 5–7 years and focuses on learning the basics of hand sewing in a calm, nurturing environment. With small class sizes capped at six students, each child receives gentle, individual guidance as they learn to use needles, thread and simple sewing tools with confidence.

Students will work with beautiful, premium Merino felt to create a small handmade project they’ll be proud to take home. Hand sewing at this age helps develop fine motor skills, concentration and creativity, while fostering a love of making from an early age. All materials are provided.

Your Teacher

Jane is a qualified teacher and experienced sewing business owner, with a natural ability to support young learners as they build confidence and independence. Her love of sewing began when her grandmother taught her as a young girl—sparking a passion that has grown for over 30 years.

With a long-held dream finally realised, Jane founded her sewing school to inspire the next generation of makers. Her junior classes are thoughtfully paced, encouraging and designed to help children feel proud of what they create.

Where?

Classes are held at a local sewing studio at 314A Oxley Road, Graceville. Jane will be taking over this space at the end of December, transforming it into a cosy, creative studio designed especially for children’s sewing classes.

The studio is conveniently located near cafes and parks. A bench is available outside for parents who wish to stay nearby, though many children enjoy the independence of having their own creative space during class.

Cancellation & Make-Up Policy

We understand that life can be unpredictable. If your child is unable to attend a class, a make-up session can be arranged; however, refunds are not available for missed classes.

If a class needs to be cancelled by Jane for any reason, you’ll be offered either a make-up class or a prorated refund—whichever suits you best.
